Ultram is an effective pain relief medication that has been used to treat mild to moderately severe pain. Ultram is a brand name of Tramadol which is a narcotic-like substance that achieves its efficiency through attaching itself to the opioid receptors found in the brain which makes the body numb to pain or any other sensations.
Ultram has both been tested in humans and also in animals and they are both used by doctors and veterinarians for effective pain relief. Dosage of the substance is limited to a maximum of three hundred milligrams a day in humans to avoid the acquisition of adverse side effects that are often lethal.
